The McGovern Medical School at Houston gives undergraduate and medical students opportunities to get involved in research today that will define the type of medicine practiced in the future. Students are given a chance to pair up with a faculty mentor to define a research project and plan the execution over the ten weeks of the summer. These research experiences provide a chance to learn about the scientific method and the way that research is changing medicine. At the conclusion of the summer research program medical students have the chance to demonstrate their results to their peers in a fall poster session.
