Milestone Preventive Cardiology Forum set for Feb. 1

Cardiologists, registered dietitians, primary care physicians, family physicians, pediatricians, internists, residents, medical students, respiratory therapists, nurses, exercise physiologists, and healthcare professionals with an interest in cardiovascular disease prevention are invited to attend the 30th annual Preventive Cardiology Forum at McGovern Medical School, Saturday, Feb. 1.
Directed by Francisco Fuentes, MD, professor of internal medicine, Division of Cardiology, the forum will be held 7:30 a.m. – 1:10 p.m. in MSB 3.001. Registration for the event is closed.
Presenters include L. Maximilian Buja, MD, professor pathology and laboratory medicine; Adrienne Walton, MD, MS, staff physician in pediatric cardiology; Martha Tzou, MD, assistant professor of cardiology; Shreela V. Sharma, PhD, RDN, LD, professor of epidemiology at the UTHealth School of Public Health; Anita Deswal, MD, MPH, FAHA, FACC, FHFSA, chair of the Department of Cardiology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; and Matthew Antonioli, MS2.
Poster presenters include David Ben-Nun, MS4; Momin Islam, MS4; Trisha Pandey, MS4; and Antonioli.
The activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and Baylor College of Medicine. The Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credential Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The activity provides 5.0 contact hours of nursing continuing education (CNE).
