Thanks in large part to ongoing efforts during the pandemic — carefully following safety protocols, caring for patients in clinics and hospitals, administering thousands of vaccines at sites throughout the UTHealth Community, and advancing our understanding of how to prevent and treat the virus— great progress has been made to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Consistent with new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fully vaccinated individuals who are learning and working on our campuses may resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing.

Faculty, trainees, and staff who have not been fully vaccinated are strongly encouraged to continue wearing masks and eye protection in all UTHealth clinics, including UT Physicians, UT Dentists, UT Health Services, and student clinics at UTHealth School of Dentistry.

Masks are also strongly recommended for patients and visitors in our clinics.

Existing safety protocols for UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center’s staff, patients, and visitors remain in place.
