The Department of Cardiovascular and Vascular Surgery holds its first in-person Grand Rounds Lecture since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic which featured a special guest, Kenneth Mattox, MD, who retired as chief of staff at Ben Taub General Hospital in December 2020 after a 60-year career.

Going along with the theme of the lecture “Medicine in Ancient Egyptian Civilization” presented by Kamal Khalil, MD, adjunct professor of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, Mattox brought books which archived the history of Ancient Egyptian medicine.
