Microsoft Teams, a modern hub for teamwork and collaborations, will be replacing Skype for Business Sept. 1 and is currently available to all UTHealth students, faculty, and staff.

Microsoft Teams fully integrates with Office 365 and offers features such as chat, video calling, screen-sharing, online meetings, and document sharing. Your documents, photos, videos, chat history, and meeting notes are always there, making it easier to work together.

Skype for Business will be retired at the end of August 2021, so all UTHealth students, faculty, and staff who currently use Skype for Business will need to transition to using Microsoft Teams before Sept. 1. The IT User Experience and Support group is available to assist if you in switching. Please use ServiceNow to request assistance or call 713-486-4848.

Recorded training sessions and other resources for getting started can be found on the UTHealth website. Training sessions range from installation and transitioning to a beginners guide to learning the basics, how to use channels and files, utilizing chats and meetings and more.
