September 19-16 is Aortic Disease Awareness Week. Our teams at McGovern Medical School are internationally recognized as leaders and innovators in the field of aortic disease. The aortic supplies the body with oxygenated blood and is the body’s largest artery. For over two decades, physicians at UTHealth Houston have committed to the early identification, medical management, surgical treatment, and genetic testing of aortic disease to help with the life-threatening conditions.
