Women and Girls in Science Symposium set for Feb. 11



International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The McGovern Medical School Women Faculty Forum invites all students and employees in the Texas Medical Center to a virtual edition its fourth annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science Symposium Feb. 11 from 4:30-6 p.m.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was established by the United Nations in 2015 and is recognized around the world. The event provides an opportunity for health care professionals and trainees to celebrate successful women in academia.

The 2022 keynote speaker is Toi Harris, MD, associate provost of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion & Student and Trainee Services, and a professor of psychiatry & behavioral sciences, pediatrics, and family and community medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Harris also serves as the chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Women in Medicine and Science.

The symposium will also highlight accomplished McGovern Medical School faculty including:
