Red Duke Trauma Symposium returns March 25

The Memorial Hermann Health System hosts the 2022 Red Duke Trauma Symposium March 25 at The Westin Houston, Memorial City (945 Gessner Rd.). The symposium will address advances in trauma, emergency medicine, and critical care.

The one-day course is designed for pre-hospital care providers, nurses, advanced practitioners, and physicians. Leading specialists in acute care general surgery, emergency medicine, orthopedic traumatology, and neuro trauma will highlight advances in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with an array of traumatic injuries and the development of appropriate strategies for incorporating evidence-based protocols into clinical management.

Attendees can choose to participate in person or virtually, with in-person participants receiving hands-on training with multidisciplinary skills and stations. In-person participation is subject to change per community health guidelines.

The Red Duke Trauma Symposium spans nine sessions consisting of Resuscitation and Hemorrhage Control, Pediatric Trauma, Spinal Cord Injury, Patient Stories, Recovering from Trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury, Trends in Trauma Care, Geriatric Trauma, and What’s in the News. In additions, skills sessions are available from 11 a.m. until noon and 4-5 p.m.

The Keynote Speaker is Joseph Ibrahim, MD, trauma medical director at Orlando Regional Medical Center. The Memorial Hermann Health System is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

A maximum of 6 EMS CE hours will be provided in accordance with Texas DSHS standards.
