Impactful Inventions

Black History Month Art Wall

In honor of Black History Month, the McGovern Medical School Office of Diversity and Inclusion is honoring great achievements by Black inventors who have created products that have had a lasting impact on the health field as part of February’s exhibit of the Art Wall.

Models of products honor the work of Intisar and Rashid Mahdi (Browndages); Charles R. Drew (transfusion of blood plasma); Frederick McKinley Jones (automatic refrigeration for trucks); Mary Kenner (sanitary belt); and Otis Frank Boykin (electrical capacitator).
