  • Current Methods in Biochemistry and Cell Biology (3 units)
  • Molecular Basis of Cell Signaling (3 units)
  • Tutorial Research Experience

Summer

  • BCB Scientific Writing (1 unit)
  • Research in Biomedical Science

(any GSBS-approved writing course may be substituted in a different semester, prior to candidacy exam)


Year 2

Fall

  • Design and Delivery of Advanced Research Seminar Course (1 unit)
  • Seminars in Life Sciences (0.5 unit)
  • BCB Research in Progress – Required for all BCB students every semester (1 unit)
  • Research in Biomedical Science

Spring

  • Seminars in Life Sciences (0.5 unit)
  • BCB Research in Progress – Required for all BCB students every semester (1 unit)
  • Research in Biomedical Science
  • Take candidacy exam

Year 2: two 1-unit electives (any elective approved for credit by GSBS, including approved courses around TMC)

Electives

  • Integrative and Molecular Physiology (3 units)

Year 3+

  • BCB Research in Progress – Required for all BCB students every semester (1 unit)
