Postdoctoral / Research Scientist Positions at UT Health Science Center, Houston, TX

We are seeking a highly motivated, recent PhD or B.S. to join the Circadian rhythm research group, in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The research in our lab currently focuses on the regulation and functional impact of biological clocks using mouse model system. Biological clocks orchestrate a wide variety of essential cellular and physiological processes to ensure the well-being of the host organisms. Of particular interests in the lab are circadian core clock mechanism study and applying this knowledge to the pathophysiological impact of mal-functioning clocks, particularly in metabolic disease, muscle atrophy and inflammation. Armed with profound knowledge of the clock and broad experience in cutting-edge technologies, our lab is poised to advance our understanding of the molecular underpinnings of the clock and how best to exploit it for novel therapies against pressing human health concerns.

Highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree for Post doc and B.S degree for research scientist are encouraged to apply. The Post doc candidate should have a demonstrated publication record and strong background in molecular biology/biochemistry and/or immunology. The successful applicant will be working in an active research department within the renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC). To apply, please email a cover letter, CV, and names and contact information of three referees to Dr. Zheng (Jake) Chen at Zheng.Chen.1@uth.tmc.edu .
