16th Annual Yatsu Day Symposium

The UTHealth Houston Institute for Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease will host the 16^th Annual Yatsu Day Symposium, “The New Era of Stroke Care: Pharmaceutical Innovation and Therapeutics.” The half-day event aims to help increase physicians’ and trainees’ knowledge in stroke care and brain health. This year’s agenda will focus on new pharmaceuticals, including GLP-1 receptor agonists, and how they are changing stroke care. The program will also include discussion of new clinical trials and AI technologies testing emerging therapies in stroke.

The annual event is named in honor of Dr. Frank Yatsu, professor emeritus of neurology, who passed away in 2012. He was the second chair of the Department of Neurology and an internationally recognized leader in stroke.
