ULTRA Upper Extremity Trauma Course and Cadaver Dissection 2026

March 27, 2026 - March 28, 2026

For those specializing in Orthopaedic Trauma, lower extremity injuries tend to be more prevalent and, in many cases, more familiar. Similarly, for specialists in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery or Hand Surgery, much of the training is centered on chronic and elective conditions. Consequently, many trainees and early-career orthopaedic surgeons may find themselves stepping into roles that require expertise in trauma, shoulder/elbow, or upper extremity conditions, without having received sufficient training or gained the confidence needed to manage complex upper extremity injuries.

This one-and-a-half-day course is designed to enhance participants’ understanding and comfort in managing these fractures. It brings together an interdisciplinary group of esteemed faculty members who share a commitment to advancing upper extremity trauma care. Many of the instructors have dual fellowship training and are recognized as accomplished educators, surgeons, and leaders in the field. The course will offer a comprehensive educational experience, incorporating didactic lectures, case discussions, debates, and hands-on cadaveric dissection, allowing participants to practice implant placement and gain a thorough understanding of upper extremity trauma. The course will cover a wide range of upper extremity pathologies, from clavicle and scapular fractures to those involving the distal radius.
