The Cardiothoracic and Vascular McGovern Team Participates in the 2017 Vascular Annual Meeting

The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the McGovern Medical School recently participated in the 2017 Vascular Annual Meeting held May 31-June 3, 2017 with Plenary Sessions and Exhibits held on June 1-3.  The meeting was hosted in San Diego California at the San Diego Convention Center.

The UT Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Team were selected to attend and participate in various exhibits and sessions surrounding the annual meeting.

Dr. Hazim Safi was the speaker during the debate on New Horizons in Treatment of Extra-Cranial Cerebrovascular Disease discussing the viewpoint of Brachiocephalic Disease: Surgical Treatments are Superior on Wednesday, May 31st.

Dr. Kristofer Charlton-Ouw was selected as The McGovern Medical School plenary speaker for the Management of Arterial Infections, presenting on the topic of Infected Thoracic Grafts on Friday, June 2nd.

Both Dr. Anthony Estrera and Dr. Ali Azizzadeh participated in the session that surrounds the SVS/STS Summit: Advances and Controversies in the Management of Complex Thoracoabdominal Aneurysmal Diseases and Type B Aortic Dissection on Saturday, June 3rd. Dr. Estrera presented on the video topic of:  Open Operative Strategies for a Type II or III TAA, and Dr. Azizzadeh was the speaker on the Debate of Medical Versus Endovascular Treatment of Uncomplicated Dissections.
