Dr. Tom Ngyuen and team wins the ISMICS Best Manuscript Award

The 17th International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery Annual Scientific Meeting was recently held this month in Rome, Italy. Here, the world’s leading surgical experts in minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgical techniques gathered to promote and support research and education in, and related to, the field of minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
The McGovern Medical School Cardiothoracic Team’s participation in last year’s meeting was selected as the 2016 Best Manuscript for their work on the topic of “Traditional Sternotomy Versus Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients Stratified by Ejection Fraction”.
Congratulations to Dr. Tom Ngyuen and his team of Dr. Vinod Thourani, Dr. Justin Q. Pham, Dr. Matthew Terwelp, Dr. Prakash Balan, Dr. Daniel Ocazionez Trujillo, Dr. Catalin Loghin, Dr. Richard Smalling, Dr. Joe Lamelas, and Dr. Anthony Estrera. Dr. Vinoud Thourani was in Rome for the ISMICS Meeting to accept the award on behalf of the McGovern Team.
