Physician Burnout and Resilience Task Force White Paper
Without Salary (WOS) Appointments
Without Salary (WOS) appointments designate faculty appointments to individuals who participate in UTHealth teaching programs on a volunteer basis without remuneration (see HOOP Policy 189). The Office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer (EVPCAO) oversees this process at the institutional level.
The Office of Administration and Faculty Affairs (OAFA) at McGovern Medical School submits completed MMS WOS paperwork to the Office of the EVPCAO. The following are required to be completed at the department level and submitted to OAFA for review:
All MMS WOS requests must be submitted to OAFA using the newly revised form. Any MMS WOS requests not submitted on this form will not be processed.
Please direct any questions or requests for assistance with the MMS WOS form to email@example.com.
Please note –
The EVPCAO Office will prepare an institutional appointment letter to be mailed to the WOS faculty member once the WOS appointment paperwork has been received from the MMS Office of Administration & Faculty Affairs. This letter requests the faculty to sign in acceptance of the appointment, complete the Annual WOS Compliance Orientation Training and return the signed letter to the Office of the EVPCAO as directed. If the letter is not signed by the faculty within the specified return date, then the appointment is considered void.
