Biography

Cesar Nahas, M.D., is a board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon who has special expertise in off-pump coronary artery bypass, mitral valve repair, adult cardiac, thoracic surgery, and vascular and endovascular surgery.

Dr. Nahas received his medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. He then completed an internship, a general and cardiothoracic surgery residency and a cardiovascular surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston under the leadership of Dr. Michael DeBakey. After finishing his training, Dr. Nahas was a full-time faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine and was chief of the Cardiac Surgery Program at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston.

Before his appointment as medical director of the cardiac surgery program at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, he was in private practice for 20 years and was instrumental in growing cardiac care in the Clear Lake area.

Dr. Nahas is a member of the American College of Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.

Outside of his practice, he enjoys travel, music, the arts and high-performance car racing.
