In 1984, Dr. Hariharan graduated from Kilpauk Medical College in India with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine at Jawaharal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in India in 1987. After receiving specialized cardiology training as a Cardiology Registrar at St. Thomas Hospital in London and St. James University Hospital in Leeds, he came to McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), where he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1994. He finished his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2002 and his Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2003.
He is currently a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Section at UTHealth Houston, the Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Memorial Hermann Hospital –Texas Medical Center and the Vice President & Senior Physician Executive – Practice Plan, MSDRP Administration.
