This month, our Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation (ACTAT) team is proudly commemorating its 200th Impella 5.5 insertion, positioning UTHealth Houston as one of the nation’s top five implanting centers, with the highest volume in the State of Texas.

With this achievement also comes exceptional patient outcomes. Our center excels not only in vast experience and research in implanting this device, but also in its expert management leading to remarkable results. This includes successful recoveries, bridges to durable LVADs, and heart transplants. Congratulations to the ACTAT team on reaching this milestone.
