Biography

Dr. Bhama is an Assistant Professor of Oncology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. She is board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.

She earned her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean in 2013. She completed residency at UT Austin-Dell Medical School in 2016, where she also served as Chief Resident until 2017. She obtained her Hematology/Oncology fellowship training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Her clinical interests include breast, colorectal, lung, neuroendocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and gynecologic cancers. She also treats a variety of benign and malignant hematology including leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

She takes an active role in the UT Hematology Oncology fellowship training program as core faculty while supervising fellows, residents and medical students in their continuity clinics at Memorial Hermann Northeast Cancer Center.

She is dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care tailored to each individual patient according to the latest research and technological advances. She is honored to take care of patients while they are in their most vulnerable state. She values getting to know patients and their families closely so that she can develop treatment plans in alignment with their wishes and tumor specifications which may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted and/or hormone therapy. She works with an interdisciplinary team including medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, RN navigators, social workers and nutritionists to provide the best possible care.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, hiking, cycling, cooking and various arts and crafts.
