Zaka U. Khan, MD

Biography

Dr. Zaka Khan earned his medical degree at Nishtar Medical University in Multan, Pakistan. He completed his residency at Staten Island University Hospital and fellowships at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine in New York and McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

In practice since 2004, Dr. Khan is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and cardiac electrophysiology. He specializes in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and treats patients for complex cardiac arrhythmias. His clinical interests focus on catheter ablation of complex cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation (AF), ventricular tachycardia (VT) and supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), as well as implantation and follow up of cardiac device therapy including conventional and leadless pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
An assistant professor of internal medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at McGovern Medial School at UTHealth, he is also involved in multiple research studies and clinical trials directed at management of complex arrhythmias.

Dr. Khan believes in tailoring treatment based on individual patient’s needs. His patients describe him as an attentive, kind and calming physician, who uses understandable terms to answer questions and explain conditions and procedures.
