Biography

Dr. Kannan earned his medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in India. He completed his residency at Northeastern Ohio Medical University. Following his residency, he completed two fellowships: the first in general cardiology at the University of Arizona in Tucson and the second in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. As a staff Cardiac Electrophysiologist at UT Physicians – EP Heart, he provides specialty care for adult and senior patients with cardiovascular disease and heart rhythm problems. His primary clinical interests are atrial fibrillation ablation, arrhythmias, pacemaker implant, defibrillator implant, ventricular tachycardia ablation, lead extraction and device extraction.

Dr. Kannan takes time to talk to patients and listen carefully without rushing them. They appreciate his ability to explain conditions in easily understood terms.
