Biography

Dr. Barnes obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science center at San Antonio (UTHealth) and was an intern/resident at Beth Israel Medical Center, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. She also completed a Chief Medical Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Barnes received her rheumatology fellowship training at UTHealth from 2010 to 2012 and she served as Chief Rheumatology fellow from 2011 to 2012. Along with her rheumatology training, she completed the Health Educator Scholarship at UTHealth. She is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega and Academy of Master Educators. Dr. Barnes provides general rheumatology care and consultation at UT Professional Building, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital. She is the Rheumatology Fellowship Program Director and she also participates in Internal Medicine at UTHealth as Associate program director.
