Dr. Liang Zhu received her Ph.D. degree in Statistics in 2008 from University of Missouri – Columbia. After her graduation, she worked in the Department of Biostatistics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In 2016, she joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) McGovern Medical School as an Associate Professor. Dr. Zhu’s current research focuses on longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, semiparametric methods, clinical trials, as well as machine learning applications. Dr. Zhu has received extramural grants as the PI to support her independent research: an NIH R21 grant in 2016 and multiple NIH R03 grant in 2013, 2017, and 2020. Dr. Zhu also provide statistical support to the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery and other departments at UTHealth and served as a co-investigator in multiple NIH R01, DOD, or foundation grants.
