Upcoming screening and discussion for The Strange Demise of Jim Crow

The Strange Demise of Jim Crow tells the story of the civil rights movement and desegregation in Houston. The film was created and executive produced by Center Director, Thomas Cole, PhD, with co-producer William Howze, PhD, and David Berman as director. The film screening will be held on Sunday, February 9 at 5:00 pm and will include a panel discussion after the screening. Cole will moderate the discussion with panel participants Reverend William Lawson of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, Reverend Bill Kerly of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and Amanda Edwards, an associate with Bracewell & Giuliani LLP. Tickets are free, but must be requested through the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
