Each semester, entering students of the six schools of UTHealth have the opportunity to meet The Brewsters. The fictional family is the subject of a choose-your-own-adventure book, co-written by Center Director, Dr. Thomas Cole, and Dr. Jeffrey Spike, Center faculty member and co-director of the Campus-Wide Ethics Program (also called the Program in Interprofessional Ethics). Readers follow the Brewster family through their encounters with various health professionals and students by making choices and turning the page.
The initiative aims to bring interprofessional ethics conferences, lectures, and opportunities for faculty development. Now, for the first time, faculty will have the chance to meet the Brewsters, too. The four-day seminar series will be held on Thursday, April 10, 17, 24, and May 1 with faculty of UTHealth. Although registration for this series is now closed, similar opportunities may be presented in the future.
