Rice University will host a panel discussion on “Humanities, Medicine, and STEM” on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. Dr. Thomas Cole will participate alongside William Adams, Ph.D., Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities; Marcia Brennan, Ph.D., Professor of Religion and Art History at Rice University; and Ann Saterbak, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Engineering Education and Director of Bioengineering Undergraduate Studies at Rice University. Dr. Kirsten Ostherr, Professor of English and Director of Medical Humanities at Rice University will moderate the panel discussion, which will focus on opportunities and challenges emerging at the intersection of the humanities, medical, and STEM fields.

The event is open to the public, but advance registration is required.
