Keisha Ray, PhD, was interviewed recently by Ashley Abramson of Elemental by Medium. In the interview, Ray explains that racial disparity is a pressing issue in medicine that medical students must learn about. As part of Ray’s “Science Fiction and Topics in Bioethics” sub-elective offered as part of the Center’s fourth-year course, Humanistic Elements of Medicine, sci-fi essays, TV shows, and films facilitate discussions about race and culture, and racial disparities in health care.
