Coordinators of Gun Violence & Physicians among winners of national poster competition

The American Medical Association recently recognized the efforts of several McGovern Medical School students and faculty member, Sandra McKay, MD.  The team won the student category for “Medical Education or Wellness Innovation” at this year’s EXPO Research Symposium Poster Competition, held November 15 in San Diego, CA.  The poster was titled “The Impact of Firearm Safety Counseling Education on Pediatric Residents” and presented findings from their educational intervention.  Student team members included several involved in the development and management of Gun Violence and Physicians, a blue book elective sponsored by the McGovern Center.  The student members were: Michael Bagg, Natasha Topolski, Marina K. Ibraheim, and Anish Patnaik.
