Dr. John Timothy Bricker, director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics, died May 13, 2013.
He was born Dec. 20, 1952, and raised in Ohio. He received a bachelor’s degree with honors in 1973 from Malone College in Canton, Ohio, and was awarded a medical degree with honors from Ohio State University in 1976. Dr. Bricker did his pediatric residency, chief residency, and a cardiology fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. He joined the Medical School in 2011 and also served as Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
He was married to Janet Lynn Bricker on August 25, 1973. He is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Valarie (Bricker) Morton and their three children Lauryn Kelly, Sarah Lynn, and Rebecca Paige; Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin (III) and Nikki Bricker and their two children Emily Jo, and Lilly Ann; and Susan Bricker and Charlotte Kucera. He is also survived by his mother, Becky Bricker, his two sisters, Carol Carnes, and Connie Byler, who are all from Ohio.
A memorial service was held May 16 at Levy Funeral Directors.
