Dr. Emily Turner
Dr. Emily Turner, recent graduate of the Medical School and soon-to-be emergency medicine resident, has been named a National Outstanding Emergency Medicine Medical Student.
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) annually selects 10 students from the U.S. medical schools who excel in humanism, professionalism, clinical judgment, leadership and service, and research. Turner has published her research and presented regionally and nationally. Her mentor is Dr. David Robinson, professor of emergency medicine.
“She has been an incredible all-around student to represent our school and emergency medicine program,” said Dr. Joanne Oakes, associate professor of emergency medicine.
Turner will be recognized with the national award at a ceremony at the ACEP annual meeting in Seattle in October.
ACEP is a national medical specialty society that represents emergency medicine with more than 28,000 members.
