The seminar will focus on recognizing and evaluating stroke presentation in men, women, and patients of various racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Conference chairs are Dr. James Grotta, chair of the Department of Neurology and co-director of the Mischer Neuroscience Institute, and Dr. Sean Savitz, associate professor of neurology and director of the UT Stroke program. Conference faculty include Drs. Nicole Gonzales, Nneka Ifejika, and Anjail Sharrief, all of the Department of Neurology.
The annual event is named in honor of Dr. Frank Yatsu, professor emeritus of neurology, who died March 9, 2012. He was the second chair of the Department of Neurology.
The daylong event begins at 7 a.m. and is held for neurologists, cardiologists, neuro-intensivists, neurosurgeons, neurorehabilitation physicians, primary care physicians, and Nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health professionals working in these fields.
