The UT Physicians Bayshore Multispecialty Clinic broke ground Tuesday, Nov. 5. The new 18,000-square-foot patient center is located directly across from UT Physicians Bayshore Family Practice Center, 11452 Space Center Blvd.
The new Bayshore building will house adult specialties provided by UT Physicians, such as obstetrics and gynecology, rheumatology, cardiology, healthy aging, and psychiatry. It also will feature a lab draw station and imaging provided by Memorial Hermann, which will include CT, digital radiology, and ultrasound. A classroom space will be included for Medical School student and resident rotation opportunities.
“We have outgrown our existing space, which once the new building opens will be the home to all of our primary care,” explained Dr. Tom Murphy, medical director of Bayshore and assistant dean for Community Affairs and Health Policy.
The new multispecialty building is scheduled to open in April. Marilyn Lester will be the clinic’s administrative director.
