The program will open with Manuel de Falla’s ballet suite for the “Three-Cornered Hat” and “Asturias” by Albeniz.
After the intermission, the orchestra will be joined on stage by a singer, a bandoneon soloist and a distinguished pair of tango dancers from Argentina. The entire second half of the concert will consist of tango music by Argentina’s most famous composers with lots of dancing and singing on stage.
The orchestra, which consists largely of medical, nursing, and bioscience students and practitioners has steadily grown in size and stature, with a big boost this past year coinciding with its first performance in Carnegie Hall.
Concerts are family friendly. Tickets, including student pricing, are available: www.tmcorchestra.org/.
