Dr. Run Wang, professor of surgery and the Cecil M. Crigler, MD Chair in Urology, recently was unanimously elected president-elect of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) at the organization’s annual meeting in Orlando.
Established in 1994, the SMSNA is an association of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and scientists interested in the advancement of sexual medicine in North America. The mission of the SMSNA is to promote the highest standards of care in sexual medicine and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the latest research in the field of sexual medicine.
Wang will serve the SMSNA as president-elect for two years before he becomes the president of the society for a two-year term.
Wang is also the director of Sexual Medicine in the Department of Urology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the executive chair and secretary general for the World Chinese Urological Society.
