Residents and fellows are invited to attend a free workshop Aug. 27 about interpreting and applying medical literature in patient care.

Sponsored by the Center for Clinical Research and Evidence Based Medicine, the workshop will be held 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in MSB B.500.

In addition to small group sessions, lectures will include “Introduction to EBM and Randomized Control Trials,” by Dr. Joshua Samuels; “Systematic Reviews,” by Samuels; “Effective EBM Literature Searches,” by Dr. Donald Molony; “Diagnostic Tests,” by Molony; and “Teaching EBM in Clinical Settings,” by Dr. Laura Benjamins.

Participants will be asked to spend some time before each session preparing by reading the assigned articles and completing the critical appraisal tools/questions. Reading materials and additional information will be distributed approximately one week before the workshop.
