All faculty, graduate students and fellows are invited to register for the Annual Medical School Research Retreat, which is sponsored by the Medical School Research Committee.
Dr. Darwin Prockop, professor of Molecular and Cellular Medicine and Stearman Chair in Genomic Medicine, Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, will deliver the keynote address, “Mesenchymal stem/progenitor cells (MSCs): A new window on biology and the prospects of dramatic new therapies.”
This year the event will include two symposia on Faculty Innovations. In addition, there will be a Graduate Student Education Committee sponsored poster competition and a Postdoctoral Fellow symposium designed to highlight the work of our graduate and post-graduate trainees. The deadline to submit an abstract for the GSEC poster competition is Sept. 26.
The purpose of the retreat, which will be held 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Oct. 8 at the Sarofim Research Building, Institute of Molecular Medicine, is to inform and promote interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the research conducted on our campus and an excellent way to interact with your colleagues and peers.
