UT Physicians Bayshore Multi-Specialty is now open and accepting new patients.

UT Physicians has expanded its presence in southeast Houston with the opening of the new 18,000-square-foot UT Physicians Bayshore Multi-Specialty Clinic, located at 11476 Space Center Blvd.

Located directly across from the UT Physicians Bayshore Family Medicine Clinic, 11452 Space Center Blvd., the new multi-specialty site offers board-certified care in:

  • Bariatric/General Surgery
  • Cardiology (heart)
  • Cardiovascular Surgery
  • Dermatology
  • Endocrinology (diabetes)
  • ENT (ear, nose, throat)
  • Gastroenterology
  • Hepatology (liver)
  • Neurosurgery
  • Non-invasive testing (nuclear, echocardiograms, stress tests, venous, arterial and carotid dopplers)
  • Oncology (cancer)
  • Orthopedics
  • Pain management
  • Rheumatology

The new site works collaboratively with the existing Bayshore clinic, offering specialists to complement adult patients’ needs.

“We want to offer our patients the convenience of their UT Physicians neighborhood location to meet their outpatient health needs,” said Dr. Thomas Murphy, medical director of both Bayshore offices and assistant dean for Community Affairs and Health Policy for McGovern Medical School. “We are consistently evaluating our patients’ health conditions in order to best serve them – so new specialists will be added as needed.”

The location uses an electronic medical record (EMR) system to ensure that each UT Physicians clinician has access to a patient’s complete history, increasing patient safety and preventing duplication of diagnostic tests. Patients also may access their medical information through a patient portal, MyUTP, which charts their vital signs from all UT Physicians visits and allows direct scheduling and refill requests.

UT Physicians Bayshore Multi-Specialty is open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A Memorial Hermann lab is located on site to accommodate the lab work for both the multi-specialty and family practice clinics. A Memorial Hermann imaging center is expected to open in March, which will add CT scanner, ultrasound, and X-ray capabilities.

“We are truly a “one stop shop” for patients in this community,” said Marilyn Lester, physician office administrator.
