More than 250 visitors enjoyed an educational morning learning important information about upcoming and leading stem cell therapies for various neurological diseases during the 21st Annual Neuroscience Research Center Public Forum at the Cooley University Life Center February 20. The family event was moderated by UTHealth stem cell expert Dr. Sean Savitz. Panelists included UTHealth experts Drs. Qi Lin Cao, Charles Cox, Jr., Erin Furr-Stimming, and Jair Soares. Henry Caplan, a fourth-year student, at McGovern Medical School, was awarded the 2016 Distinguished Medical Student Award and Curtis Neveu was awarded the 2016 Graduate Student Brain Awareness Outreach Award during the event.
