The 2016 Summer Research Program, directed by Dr. Gary Rosenfeld, associate dean for educational programs, came to a close Aug. 5. Coordinated by Maria Flores, participants were supported by the Office of the Dean of McGovern Medical School and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, individual faculty, and by a National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases Short-Term Institutional Research Training Grant (T-35). The students conducted their research with faculty of the medical school, the School of Dentistry, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. The application period for the 2017 Summer Research Program will run Dec. 1 – Feb. 1 for undergraduate college students and January – March for current MS1 students.
