Students and faculty members took to the streets alongside other members of the community Aug. 21 to gaze up at the total solar eclipse. Millions of people across the country watched the eclipse sweep across the U.S. and staff and students at McGovern Medical School joined in witnessing the celestial event – with special glasses safely in hand, of course. The spectacle marks the first time a total eclipse of the sun was visible from the contiguous U.S. since 1979.
