The UT Police Department will host an evening of food, fun, and community building next week as they host their annual National Night Out celebration alongside thousands of communities across the US.
Campus police will host their event 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the UTHealth Child Development Center Clubhouse (7900 Cambridge St, Houston, TX 77054). The free event is open to the public and will offer a variety of events including a taser demonstration, police vehicle tours, a general safety presentation and other family-friendly activities.
NNO celebrations are held across the country in all fifty states, US territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August with Texas holding it NNO celebrations on the first Tuesday in October. The events can involve block parties, festivals, cookouts, and other gatherings as a way to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcements.
