The 8th Academy of Master Educators (AME) induction ceremony and dinner was held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Third Coast.  Dr. Gary Rosenfeld, chair of the academy and professor of pharmacology and associate dean of Medical Education in the Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology, welcomed 12 new inductees and their guests, along with other academy members, bringing the total Academy membership to 68.

Also in attendance were Dr. George Stancel, executive vice president of Academic Research Affairs, and Dr. Kevin Morano, associate vice president of Faculty Affairs & Development and associate dean for Faculty Affairs.  The new members are:

Dr. Steven A. Lieberman, special advisor to the dean, UTRGV School of Medicine and John P. McGovern Distinguished Chair in Oslerian Medicine, was the guest speaker.  His talk was titled, “The Future of Medical Educators?”
