The Neuroscience Research Center will host the 24th annual Neuroscience Public Forum from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 13 at the Cooley University Life Center.
A part of international “Brain Awareness Week,” the forum is one of the largest public neuroscience outreach events held in Houston. The forum is open to the public, and it allows hundreds of members of the Houston community to interact with scientists and clinicians while viewing demonstrations and displays related to brain function and health.
The 2019 forum titled “Maintaining Brain Health across the Life Span” will include panelists Summer Ott, PsyD, assistant professor of orthopedic surgery; Joy Schmitz, PhD, Louis A. Faillace Professor and director of the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences; Paul Schulz, MD, Rick McCord Professor in Neurology and director of the Neurocognitive Disorders Center; and Jennifer Beauchamp, PhD, RN; as well as the moderator Thomas D. Meyer, PhD, associate professor and director of Psychological Intervention & Research Program on Mood Spectrum Disorders.
