The Red Duke Trauma Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and McGovern Medical School will host the 2019 EMS Orthopedic Trauma Symposium July 27 at the Hermann Conference Center (6411 Fannin St.).
The symposium is open to all interested EMS certified personnel who provide pre-hospital care and RNs working in emergency medicine, and brings together a team of fellowship-trained orthopedic traumatologists to highlight best practices in treating the polytraumatized patient.
Through live patient case studies, hands-on skill stations, and didactic lectures, participants learn the latest in applying tourniquets, pelvic binders, handling deformities, spinal injuries, pediatric trauma patients, and more.
The 2019 Orthopedic Trauma Symposium begins at 7:45 a.m., and runs through 4 p.m. Cost to attend the event is $25 and breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information, and to register for the symposium, click here.
