Five students from McGovern Medical School have been selected as part of the 2018-19 class of Albert Schweitzer Fellowship Houston Galveston (ASFHG), joining approximately 300 other fellows nationwide.
Applications are now open for the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship Houston-Galveston (ASFHG), which offers graduate students the opportunity to design and implement a health-related, 200-hour, yearlong community project that provides direct service to an underserved population.
Four McGovern Medical School students have been named Schweitzer Fellows by The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for the Houston-Galveston area. They will spend the year learning to effectively address the social factors that impact health, and develop lifelong leadership skills. In doing so, they will follow the example set by famed physician-humanitarian Albert Schweitzer, for whom the fellowship is named.
