Dr. Igor Gregoric speaks via webcam to researchers, professors, students, and members of VTIS, or "Association of Slovenians Educated Abroad." Gregoric was chosen by his peers as the recipient of the VTIS leta 2017 - or Impression of the Year 2017 - for his efforts in enabling the circulation of Slovenian knowledge between Slovenia and other countries.

NIAID awards $1.7M to develop therapy to combat TB

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has awarded Jeffrey Actor, PhD, professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, nearly $1.7 million for a 2 year project to investigate use of Lactoferrin as a novel therapeutic to combat Tuberculosis disease. The research is a collaborative project with Marian Kruzel, PhD, of PharmaReview Corporation, representing the second phase of a collaborative small business award (STTR).

Rosenfeld honored with Merrell Flair Award

Dr. Gary Rosenfeld, professor of pharmacology and associate dean of Medical Education in the Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology, received the Merrell Flair Award in Medical Education last month at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Annual Meeting in Boston.
