OBGYN to host fetal and placenta accreta symposium

Fetal Center and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Symposiium

The McGovern Medical School Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences hosts the 2024 Fetal Center & Maternal-Fetal Medicine Symposium, Jan. 27-28.

The two-day symposium will run be held in a virtual format and is free, although registration is required.

The symposium will enhance knowledge in the complex prenatal and postnatal management of placenta accreta spectrum and provide an overview of advancements in fetal intervention and managing pregnancies diagnosed with fetal anomalies. Attendees will hear from experts in maternal-fetal medicine, fetal surgery, pediatric surgery, prenatal genetic counseling, and more.

The theme for the first day of the symposium is Placenta Accreta while the second day’s topic is Fetal Intervention. Each speaker will give a 40-minute presentation before taking part in a 30-minute Q&A session.
