Two fourth-year students at McGovern Medical School celebrated a big win at the 2017 Texas Pediatric Society Annual Meeting after winning first place in the event’s E-poster contest.

The student arm of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) elected McGovern Medical School student Brandon Esianor as one of five national representative delegates and one of 12 members of the administrative board from medical schools across the United States.
Four McGovern Medical School students have been named Schweitzer Fellows by The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for the Houston-Galveston area. They will spend the year learning to effectively address the social factors that impact health, and develop lifelong leadership skills. In doing so, they will follow the example set by famed physician-humanitarian Albert Schweitzer, for whom the fellowship is named.
A team of residents from McGovern Medical School won first place in Texas in a medical Jeopardy-style competition known as Doctor’s Dilemma.
