Hello,
It’s been a busy summer, and if you were on vacation, you might have missed the news that we have a new senior vice president and chief executive officer at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
Greg Haralson was appointed to this position effective Aug. 1, succeeding Brian Dean, who was named Memorial Hermann Health System executive vice president and chief financial officer Aug. 1.
Greg has more than 17 years of healthcare experience, including the last seven as CEO at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, where he oversaw the construction of a new patient tower and medical plaza, and helped the hospital become the first Houston-area healthcare organization to earn the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest honor for performance excellence. Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, Greg spent more than 12 years with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), serving North Texas.
As CEO of Memorial Hermann-TMC, Greg has overall responsibility for Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, Memorial Hermann Orthopedic & Spine Hospital, TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital-Katy, while remaining a senior vice president at the system level.
In Brian’s new role, he is accountable for all systemwide financial operations as CFO and continues to oversee academic affairs for Memorial Hermann.
Memorial Hermann has a strong leadership team that many of our McGovern clinical leaders interface with on a regular basis. Susie Distefano is the senior vice president and CEO of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital; Jerry Ashworth is the senior vice president and CEO of TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital; Dr. Jamie McCarthy is the executive vice president and chief physician executive of Memorial Hermann Health System; and Chuck Stokes is president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System.
We are fortunate to have such a great team on our side. Please thank them for what they do and join me in welcoming Greg to Memorial Hermann-TMC and the McGovern Medical School community.
Warm regards,
Barbara
